Attaining Christhood

There is no how to or a prescription modality that can get one to attain Christhood or Buddhahood. This is a significant disclaimer that I have understood from exposure to Kapil Gupta’s work.

Buddhahood or Christhood to be put in simplistic terms is the pinnacle of human experience. It is realization or enlightenment etc. whose arrival at it is a murky, non-linear unpredictable and unknowable process, and the one who has arrived at it does not know how he or she got there, how they attained it.

They will give highlights and details they can recall about it but they can never know to it’s totality how it happened — it is precisely this reason that to instruct people or to prescribe methods, techniques, practices etc. in order to ‘help’ people attain it is false. Unless you got instructions from God himself.

I have found in my own experience that the words of a sage are only useful to the person who has already attained and not the person seeking. The one who has attained is trying to come to terms to what happened to him and therefore he seeks out understanding in the words of a sage. A useful realization at this stage is getting to point of realizing that the mind cannot understand it, that whatever it thinks to be it is wrong.

I will say this, enlightenment is only available to the person who has arrived. The human being who is still seeking by way of prescription modalities is on a chase, he will never find it because he has no clue what it is in the first place. Enlightenment is realized only when it has been attained and not in an attempt to attain it. One has to become it to know it.

I theorize that it is destiny, that if it is to happen in the lifetime of a human being it MUST happen, by whatever means necessary. It is more of a grace than an attainment, it is a gift of nature of which I have no idea about the criteria that leads to it’s giving.

It might be a genuine longing to attain freedom that births it.

It might be an extreme of sort i.e. extreme suffering, extreme desire, etc..

It might be for a reason that one cannot speculate at all.

Why I use ‘might be’ is because I don’t really know. I don’t even know why I have written this article. It doesn’t have anything to gain — it is almost telling the reader that they will NOT attain enlightenment, Christhood or Buddhahood so don’t even try.

Take it for what you will, I have no recommendations.
