I am lost a this very second. I am losing money to sports betting and I don’t seem to get a hold of myself to stop…I went for therapy today and right after I continued indulging.

I literally withdrew money from my savings to bet, I have used up revenue from fruit sales in it but still the thirst to still want to bet prevails. I do not want this habit to consume me but it seems to be the direction it is taking.

I have lost an estimate of 540 US, alot of money with the economic times but my mind can’t seem to register that. It hasn’t yet snapped out of it.

If you can’t quit a bad habit, manage it — the therapist.

Behaviour can be learned, unlearned and relearned. — Behavior is a symptom and sign of something underlying. I don’t know what it is yet…

Some Qs and reflections from therapy

  • The 3 pulls,
    — the me that says you could have been way further that you are. ( regretful, judgemental, heavy, waters down/belittles my present efforts, rewards that they are meagre)
    — the me that says accept where you are and work from there ( supressed, silent )
    — the me thats says there is where you should be ( stressful, I don’t know to get there, adds fuel to my compulsive actions.

The Qs

  • What does the word unmanageable mean to you?
  • Do I insist on having my own way?
  • Do I ignore signs that something might be serously wrong and convince myself that they will workout anyway?
  • What are your reservations on totally leaving gambling?
  • Is there anyway however painful of leaving this vice?
  • What would I be afraid of if no single coin from gambling is coming in?

Spiritual Priciples

  • Honesty — be frank be honest with yourself
  • Open Mindedness — is there other ways to get to your destination?
  • Willingness — assess your willingness to change
  • Humility — are you humble enough to allow to be told, to take instruction, to hold your opinion….etc
  • Acceptance — make peace with where you are…
