The Mind — Again
One ingenious creations of nature is the mind. How far reaching it is within a human is something he seldom realizes.
The minds has a human in it is grips in all manner possible. It knows when and where to press to get what it want from the human. Especially the unenlightened human.
It perpetuates itself through a chain of desires and aversions, it is in many humans a parasite that soon comes to overwhelm it’s host. The unenlightened human has not a symbiotic relationship with the mind.
The mind chatters incessantly and he listens. It is not even that he listens but that he does not have a choice but to. The mind takes him wherever it wishes. Makes him feel whatever it wishes. It brings up painful memories from eons ago and forces the human to relive them — not once but over and over again. It is a torturer with reservoirs of pain. It triggers emotions, it has it’s arms so far reaching within the human that whatever realization a human has is nearly a lie because it is only but a discovery of some domain of the mind.
It puts up battles within the human so strategic. Chases that do not have end points — that keep one in a guaranteed loop till end of his days. Abstractions and not reality. In the past and future but never now. Entering now is the annihilation of the mind. It cannot exist outside time. Where it doesn’t exist, all the gems of nature arise, path less travelled of peace, equanimity, bliss, end of turmoil etc. .
A battle that is not based on reality that engages in is a battle he will not win vs the mind. The mind will wait for its host to sleep. Even just figurately and reasserts itself. This time with a higher level bar before it can be kicked out again. It shines itself up but creating a self image for the human to maintain, this an ever growing garden that leaves a human’s life nothing but one of attending to chores, repairs and maintenance.
When a human is involved in a battle that fundamentally does not exist; that is an abstraction, that is the creation of the mind, he immediately loses. The fundament of the trick is keep the human everywhere but here. The fixing of circumstance and not essence. The examination of the true source of the issue at hand within the human — the mind does not see this because it is already an interested party. It will only not fight back when It wants and what the owner wants match, hence no conflict, when it is forced, it retaliates…
